Dance Pet Names

Here are some dancing terms that could be used as pet names. My favorites are Axel, Battu, and Mosh.

Axel - a type of jump
Ballo - an Italian dance in the 15th century
Ballotté - a step in ballet
Battu - in ballet, a movement with an extra beating of the feet
Bolero - a slow tempo Latin dance
Boogie-Woogie - a form of swing dance
Cha-cha - a Cuban dance style
Chasse - A dance steo with a triple step pattern
Conga - A Cuban line dance
Danzón - the official dance of Cuba
Do-si-do - a circular movement where two people walk around each other without turning
Fouetté - A type of twirl
Foxtrot - a bing band dance
Gancho - "Hook" in Spanish, it refers to hooking actions in some latin dances
Hula - a Polynesian Dance
Hustle - a type of disco dance
Jitterbug - a type of dance from the early 20th century
Jive - a dance style from the 1930s.
LeRoc - a form of modern Jive from the 1980s
Lindy Hop - a dance style from the 1920s & 1930s.
Mambo - a Cuban music genre and dance style
Maxixe - a Brazilian tango
Mosh - a hardcore punk dance
Minuet - a French dance from the 17th century
Musette - a French dance from the 17th & 18th century
Odissi - a dance that originated in Hindu temples of Odisha
Pirouette - A turn on one leg
Polka - a genre of music and dance of Czech origin
Releve - in ballet, rising onto the balls of your feet.
Rond - a ballet move where a straight leg draws a semi-circle on the floor.
Rumba - a dance style
Salsa - a Caribbean dance
Samba - a Brazilian dance
Sattriya - a Classical Indian dance
Tango - a South American dance
Vogue - stylized house dance
Waltz - a ballroom dance

The Lion King Pet Names

This list includes all names from The Lion King franchise, including the movie and it's sequels, books, and the television series, The Lion Guard.  My favorites are Bunga, Kion, Nala, Rafiki and Zazu, Share your favorites in the comments!

Ahadi - Father of Mufasa, Taka 'Scar', and Mate of Uru. Ahadi means 'commitment' in Swahili.
Ajabu - An okapi that lives in the Pride Lands. Ajaby means 'remarkable' in Swahili.
Aminifu - An elephant friend of Simba's. Simba attended his funeral. Aminifu means 'trustworthy' in Swahili.
Badili - A leopard that the Guard helps to reclaim his territory. Badili means 'switch' in Swahili.
Banzai - One of Scar's hyena followers, along with Ed and Shenzi
Basi - Basi ws the leader of the hippos and father of Beshte
Beshte - A hippo who is the strongest member of the Lion Guard
Boboka - A sable antelope in Bupu's herd. Boboka means 'meeting' in Swahili.
Boma - A buffalo that appears in a Lion King storybook
Bunga - A honey badger that is the bravest member of the Lion Guard. Bunga means 'flower' in Indonesian.
Bupu - Leader of the sable antelope herd in the Pride Lands. Bupu means 'buzz' in Swahili.
Cheezi - One of Janja's hyena followers
Chungu - One of Janja's hyena followers. Chungu means 'heap' in Swahili.
Chura - A toad from the Pride Lands. Chura means 'to eat' in Swahili.
Dogo - Jackal and son of Reirei
Ed - One of Scar's hyena followers, along with Banzai and Shenzi
Fuli - A cheetah that is the fastest member of the Lion Guard

Kopa - Child of Simba and Nala that only appears in a book. Kopa means 'borrow' in Swahili.
Kovu - Son of Zira, mate of Kiara. Kovu means 'scar' in Swahili.
Kulu - A friend of Beshte's. Kulu means 'to this' in Swahili.
Kwato - A Zebra foal that lives in the Pride Lands. Kwato means 'hoof' in Swahili.
Laini - A Galagos whose tree was taken over by Badili. Laini means 'smooth' in Swahili.
Majinuni - A gorilla prince and son of Sokwe. Majinuni means 'minimal' in Swahili.
Makucha - A leopard that fought the Lion Guard. Makucha means 'You are coming' in Swahili.
Makuu - Leader of the crocodiles in the Pride Lands. Makuu means 'great' in Swahili.
Mapigano - A leopard that tried to steal Badili's territory. Mapigano means 'clashes' in Swahili.
Ma Tembo - An elephant who was the daughter of Aminifu. Tembo means 'elephant' in Swahili.
Mbeya - A rhinoceros that lives in the Pride Lands.
Mbuni - Leader of an ostrich flock in the Pride Lands. Mbuni means 'designer' in Swahili.
Mjomba - An aardwolf that lives in the Pride Lands. Mjomba means 'uncle' in Swahili.
Mtoto - An elephant that lives in the Pride Lands. Mtoto means 'baby' in Swahili.
Mufasa - Father of Simba, King of the Pride Lands
Muhanga - An aardvark that was the mate of Muhangus. Muhanga means 'muscle' in Swahili.
Muhangus - An aardvark that was the mate of Muhanga. Muhangus means 'in the forum' in Swahili.
Muhimu - A zebra that lives in the Pride Lands. Muhimu means 'important' in Swahili.

Mzingo - A vulture that helps Janja and the hyenas make trouble for the Lion Guard, Mzingo means 'circumference' in Swahili.
Nala - Mate of Simba, Daughter of Sarafina, mother of Kiara and Kion
Nne - A hyena from Janja's clan. Nne means 'four' in Swahili.
Nuka - Son of Zira, brother of Kovu and Vitani. Nuka means 'expands' in Swahili.
Ogopa - An aardwolf that lives in the Pride Lands. Ogopa means 'fear' in Swahili.
Ono - An Egret and the keenest of sight in the Lion Guard
Pimbi - a hyrax  that appeared in a storybook. Pimbi is the word for hyrax in Swahili.
Pua - Former leader of the crocodiles in the Pride Lands, he was defeated by Makuu. Pua means 'nose' in Swahili.
Pumbaa - Warthog and friend of Simba and Timon. Pumbaa means 'thoughtless' in Swahili.
Rafiki - Mandrill Baboon and friend of Mufasa. Rafiki means 'friend' in Swahili.
Reirei - a jackal who had her son pretend to be an orphan so she could get into the Pride Lands
Sarabi - Mate of Mufasa and Simba's mother. Sarabi means 'mirage' in Swahili.
Sarafina - Nala's mother
Scar - Son of Ahadi and Uru, and brother of Mufasa. His birth name was Taka.
Shauku - A mongoose pup. Shauku means 'enthusiasm' in Swahili.
Shenzi - One of Scar's hyena followers, along with Ed and Banzai. Shenzi means 'barbarous' in Swahili.
Shingo - A giraffe that got stuck in a tree. Shingo means 'neck' in Swahili.
Simba - Son of Mufasa and Sarabi, Mate of Nala, Father of Kiara and Kion. Simba means 'lions' in Swahili.
Sokwe - King of the gorillas. Sokwe means 'chicken' in Swahili.
Swala - Leader of a gazelle herd. Swala means 'query' in Swahili.
Taka - Scar's real name. Taka means 'waste' in Swahili.
Tamaa - A drongo bird that lives in the Pride Lands. Tamaa means 'disappointment' in Swahili.
Tano - A hyena from Janja's clan. Tano means 'five' in Swahili.
Thurston - A dimwitted zebra that is the leader of his herd.
Tiifu - A lion cub that is a friend of Kiara. Tiifu means 'obedient' in Swahili.
Timon - A meerkat and friend of Simba
Twiga - A Giraffe that lives in the Pride Lands. Twiga means 'giraffe' in Swahili
Uru - Mate of Ahadi, mother of Mufasa and Taka 'Scar'
Ushari - A cobra who lives in the Pride Lands, Ushari means 'aggression' in Swahili.
Vitani - Daughter of Zira, sister of Kovu and Nuka. Vitani means 'battle' in Swahili.
Vuruga Vuruga - A water Buffalo. Vuruga means 'Violence' in Swahili
Zazu - a red-billed hornbill and friend of Mufasa and Simba
Zira - Mother of Kovu, Nuka, and Vitani. Zira means 'hated' in Swahili.
Zito - An elephant in Ma Tembo's Herd. Zito means 'bigger ones' in Swahili.
Zuri - A lion cub and friend of Kiara. Zuri means 'good' in Swahili.
Zuzu - mother of Zazu. Zuzu means 'inexperienced' in Swahili.
