Abby Cadabby - a fairy in training and daughter of the fairy godmother
Barkley - a dog that is not anthropomorphized like the other characters, and acts like a real dog
Bert - Ernie's best friend and roommate
Big Bird - huge yellow bird who questions everything
Bip Bippadotta - a wild haired muppet who performs 'Mah Na Mah Na'
Buster - Buster the Horse was owned by Forgetful Jones, and he would help him remember things.
Cookie Monster - muppet that loves cookies more than anything else.
Count von Count- a vampire who loves to count
Elmo - a red monster who hosts 'Elmo's World' and has a distinctive laugh.
Ernie - Bert's best friend and roommate.
Farley - a boy with green skin with orange spiky hair
Fluffy - Oscar the Grouch's pet elephant
Frazzle - a large orange monster with big teeth
Grover - a blue monster who was lovable and cute, his alter ego is Super Grover
Grundgetta - Oscar the Grouch's girlfriend.
Herry Monster - a blue monster that has a gentle heart, but doesn't know his own strength
Hoots - Hoots the Owl is a jazz musician who plays the saxophone
Horatio - a dancing elephant
Kermit - Kermit the Frog was on Sesame Street before he became the star of the Muppet show
Murray Monster - a red-orange muppet who hosts "Word on the Street"
Narf - a member of the Monster Clubhouse, Narf is orange with a blue nose and googly eyes
Oscar the Grouch - Oscar lives in a trash can, and gives kids permission to feel grouchy.
Snuffleupagus - a woolly mammoth who was thought to be Big Bird's imaginary friend, until the other characters finally realized he was real..
Twiddlebug - the Twiddlebugs are insects that live in Ernie's window box.
