Baseball Pet Names

These baseball terms would make awesome pet names for any baseball fan. My favorites are Blooper, Dugout, Homer, Mitt and Spike. Share your favorites in the comments!

Ace - the best pitcher on a team
Ash - slang for a baseball bat
Bazooka - slang for a strong throwing arm
Bender - slang for a curveball
Bingle - slang for a single.
Blast - slang for a home run
Blooper - a weak fly ball
Bullpen - area where the relief pitchers warm up
Bunt - to deliberately hit the ball weakling to a spot on the infield
Cheese - a fastball that is easy to hit.
Chopper - a ball that strikes the dirt in front of home plate
Clutch - good performance under pressure
Deuce - a curveball, because the catcher's sign for a curveball uses two fingers
Dinger - a home run
Dirt Dog - nickname for a scrappy player
Dugout - where the team's bench is located
Duster - a pitch thrown close to the batter
Fungo - a fly ball hit to practice catching
Homer - a home run
Hopper - a batted ball that takes several bounces
Looper - a softly hit ball that drops in between the infielders and outfielders
Maddux - a game where the pitcher throws a complete game shutout on 99 or fewer pitches
Mitt - a baseball glove
Pepper - a pregame exercize where one played bunts ground balls to a group of fielders
Pickle - slang for a rundown. where a runner is stranded between two bases
Pitch - throwing the ball to the batter
Rainbow - a curveball with a high arc
Slide - when a runner drops to the ground when running to the base to avoid a tag
Spike - When a runner slides into an infielder and causing an injury with the spikes of his shoes
Squibber - when the ball is hit off the end of the bat with the batter swinging very late causing a side spin on the ball

Triple - a three base hit
Twirler - an old fashioned term for the pitcher
Zinger - a hart hit line drive base hit

Ratatouille Pet Names

These names are from the Pixar movie, Ratatouille. My favorites are Colette, Remy, and Linguini. Share your favorites in the comments!

Alfredo - Alfredo Linguini was the son of August Gusteau and Renata. He and Remy teamed up to cook at Gusteau's restaurant.
Anton - Anton Ego was a very tough food critic whose opinion of food was changed by Remy. He invested in a restaurant run by Remy and Alfredo.
Auguste -  Auguste Gusteau was a famous French cook who believed that anyone could cook. He was the father of Alfredo Linguini.
Colette - Colette Tatou was a chef at Gusteau's. She helped Linguini, and when Gusteau's was shut down she worked at La Ratatouille.
Django - Remy and Emile's father. He was a leader of his rat colony and wanted Remy to use his special senses to protect the colony from poison instead of cooking.
Ego - Anton Ego was a very tough food critic whose opinion of food was changed by Remy. He invested in a restaurant run by Remy and Alfredo.
Emile - Emile was Remy's brother and son of Django.
Francois - Francois was an artist who created the artwork for Skinner's Gusteau line of frozen foods.
Git - Git was a friend of Emile and a member of Django's colony.
Gusteau - Auguste Gusteau was a famous French cook who believed that anyone could cook. He was the father of Alfredo Linguini.
Horst - Horst was the sous chef at Gusteau's. He had done time in prison, but changed his story every time someone asked what he did.
Lalo - Lalo  was the saucier at Gusteau's restaurant.
Larousse - Larousse was a chef at Gusteau's restaurant.
Linguini - Surname of Renata and Alfredo.
Pompidou - Pompidou was the patissier at Gusteau's restaurant
Remy - Remy was a rat with an unusually sensitive sense of smell and taste. He loved to cook, and teamed up with Alfredo Linguini to realize his dream of becoming a chef. He was the son of Django and brother of Emile.
Renata - Renata was the mother of Alfredo Linguini
Solene - Solene LeClaire was a food critic who liked the soup Remy made at Gusteau's
Talon - Talon Labarthe was Chef Skinner's lawyer.
Tatou - Colette Tatou was a chef at Gusteau's. She helped Linguini, and when Gusteau's was shut down she worked at La Ratatouille.

Blinker - a ground based firework that flashes
Bombette - any number of shell effects
Brocade - makes a spider-like effect in the sky.
Cherry Bomb - a round, firecracker that is 1 inch in diameter
Chrysanthemum - makes a flower-like pattern in the sky
Comet - makes a long trail of sparks in the sky
Crackle - the sound made by many types of fireworks
Crossette - a comet that breaks into multiple comets
Dahlia - makes a starfish-life shape in the sky
Dud - a firework that fails to ignite
Firecracker - flash powder wrapped in paper
Firefly - makes a stroboscopic tail effect with many bright flashes of light
Flitter - a type of star that has bright flashes of light
Fuse - the part of a firework that you light
Gerb - a tube on the ground that creates a fountain of sparks
Glitter - a tail effect that has flashes of light and small explosive bursts
Goggles - eye protection worn by people who handle fireworks
Jumping Jacks - Jumping Jacks spin rapidly and emit red and green sparks
Kamuro - creates an effect like a willow
Lance - a 5 inch tube that burns for 1 minute
Peony - makes a spherical ball of colored lights in the sky
Punk - a bamboo stick with a brown coating that burns slowly.

Whistle - small paper tubes that make a sharp howling sound
Willow - makes a giant gold willow tree in the sky
