Candy Pet Names

These names are for those pets that are so sweet you could just eat them up! My favorites are Fudge, Goober, Jujube, Kit-Kat, Skittles, and Snickers. Share your favorites in the comments!

Bazooka - A brand of gum with a Bazooka Joe comic strip
Butterscotch - Any number of sweets that taste like brown sugar and butter
Cadbury - A candy company founded in the U.K.
Caramel - Brown sweet made by heating sugar
Chiclet - Candy coated gum
Chuckles - Jelly candies coated with dugar
Clark - a chocolate bar with a crunchy peanut butter filling
Dot - Dots are a brand of gum drops
Fudge - Rich candy that comes in many flavors.
Gobstopper - a round candy that is very hard, also called jawbreakers
Godiva - A Belgian chocolate manufacturer
Goober - Goobers are a brand of chocolate covered peanuts
Heath - A brand of toffee chocolate bar
Hershey - A candy company founded by Milton Hershey in 1894
Jellybean - Small bean shaped candies that come in many flavors
Jujube - Jujubes are hard gummies that come in lemon, lilac, lime, cherry and violet flavors
Kit-Kat - A chocolate covered wafer
Krackel - Chocolate bar with crisped rice inside it
Licorice - Chewy candy flavored by the licorice plant
Lollipop - A hard candy on a stick
M & M - small candy coated chocolate candies
Mars - a brand of chocolate bar
Marshmallow - a spongy white candy
Mary Jane - a peanut butter and molasses candy
Moon Pie - Graham crackers with a marshmallow filling covered in chocolate
Nestlé- A Swiss candy company
Nougat - A chewy candy made with sugar or honey and different kinds of nuts
Peppermint - a herb that is used for flavoring in many different candies
Pixie (Stix) - a powdery candy that comes in a straw like package
Praline - candy that contains nuts, sugar and cream
Razzles - A brand of candy that turns into gum when chewed.
Reese - From Reese's Pieces, a peanut butter candy
Rolo - a brand of chocolate covered caramels
Runts - Hard fruit flavored and shaped candies
Skittles - small fruity candy shaped like M & M's
Skor - a brand of chocolate bar with toffee
Snickers - a brand of chocolate bar with nougat, caramel, and peanuts
Taffy - a chewy candy made with boiled sugar, butter, and vegetable oil and a variety of flavors
Toblerone - a Swiss brand of chocolate bar
Toffee - a candy made by caramelizing sugar or molasses with butter or flour
Tootsie - a chocolate flavored taffy-like candy that comes in rolls.
Truffle - a chocolate ganache center covered in chocolate in with many varieties
Twix - a chocolate bar with a cookie and caramel inside
Twizzler - a cherry flavored licorice
Wonka - Willy Wonka is a candy company named after the fictional character

Animal Names from A Song of Ice and Fire and Game of Thrones

This is a list of animal names from George R.R. Martin's book series. Only a few have made it onto the HBO series, Game of Thrones. My favorites are Ghost and Ser Pounce. Share your favorites in the comments!

Direwolves:

Ghost -  Jon Snow's direwolf. Ghost was all white, with red eyes. Ghost was the smallest at birth, but grew to be the largest.
Grey Wind - Robb Stark's direwolf. His fur was the color of grey smoke and he had yellow eyes.
Lady - Owned by Sansa Stark, Lady had grey fur and yellow eyes. She was the smallest of the litter.
Nymeria - Arya Stark's direwolf. She had grey fur and golden eyes. She was named after a legendary Queen.
Shaggydog - Rickon Stark's direwolf. He had black fur and green eyes. He was sometimes just called Shaggy.
Summer - Bran Stark's direwolf. He had silver-grey fur and yellow eyes.

Dragons:

Arrax - Dragon ridden by Prince Lucerys Velaryon.
Balerion - Also called the Black Dread he was one of the dragons used by the Targaryens to conquer Westeros.
The Cannibal - A wild dragon that was the color of coal. As his name suggests, he ate his own kind.
Caraxes - Also called the Blood Wyrm, he was a huge red dragon.
Dreamfyre - A female dragon ridden by Rhaena and Helaena Targaryen.
Drogon - One of Daenerys Targaryen's dragons. He was black with red horns and spines. His eyes were red, and his blood was black.
Grey Ghost - A grey white dragon, the shade of a morning mist.
Meleys - Also called the Red Queen, she was red with touches of pink and copper.
Meraxes - This dragon had silver scales and gold eyes.
Moondancer - A female dragon, she was pale green with pearl colored horns, crest and wingbones. She was as small as a warhorse.
Morghul - Morghul was bound to Princess Jaehaera Targaryen.
Rhaegal -  One of Daenerys Targaryen's dragons. Rhaegal had green and bronze scales. His eyes were bronze and his teeth and claws were black.
Seasmoke - A pale, silver-grey colored dragon.
Sheepstealer - This dragon was the color of mud.
Shrykos - Female dragon bound to Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen. She was never ridden
Silverwing - Silverwing was ridden by Queen Alysanne Targaryen. She was mated to Vermithor.
Stormcloud - He was bonded to King Aegon III.
Sunfyre - This dragon was gold and pink. He was called Sunfyre the Golden, and was regarded as the most beautiful dragon ever.
Syrax -  This was a yellow colored dragon.
Terrax - Jaenara Belaerys from Valyria flew Terrax further south into Sothoryos than anyone had ever gone before.
Tessarion - Also known as the Blue Queen, she was cobalt blue and copper. Even her flames were blue.
Tyraxes - Tyraxes was bound to Prince Joffrey Velaryon.
Urrax - Urrax lived during the time of the First Men.
Vermax - Dragon ridden by Prince Jacaerys Velaryon.
Vermithor - Also known as the Bronze Fury, he was bronze and tan. He was mated to Silverwing.
Vhagar - One of the Dragons used by the Targeryens to conquer Westeros.
Viserion - One of Daenerys Targaryen's dragons. Viserion was cream colored, with gold on his horns, wing bones and spinal crest. His eyes were gold and his teeth were black. He was called the white dragon.

Horses:

Blood - Ramsay Bolton's horse.
Chestnut - Owned by Ser Arlan of Pennytree and Ser Duncan the Tall
Craven - Horse Arya Stark found after she and the Hound fled the Red Wedding.
Dancer - Bran Stark's horse was specially trained since Bran could not use his legs.
Driftwood - Owned by Sandor "The Hound" Clegane, was originally named Stranger
Flame - Owned by Lady Rohanne Webber.
Glory - One of Jaime Lannister's horses.
Honor - One of Jaime Lannister's horses.
Midnight - Owned by Ser Osney Kettleblack.
Red, The - Although the Dothraki don't name their horses, Khal Drogo's horse was sometimes called 'The Red'
Rain - Owned by Ser Duncan the Tall and ridden by Egg.
Silver, The - Although the Dothraki don't name their horses, Daenerys Targaryen's horse was sometimes called 'The Silver'
Smiler - Owned by Theon Greyjoy
Stranger - Owned by Sandor "The Hound" Clegane, later renamed Driftwood
Sweetfoot - Owned by Ser Arlan of Pennytree and Ser Duncan the Tall
Thunder - Warhorse owned by Ser Arlan of Pennytree and Ser Duncan the Tall

Mules

Maester - Owned by Ser Duncan the Tall, usually ridden by Egg
Whitey - Used to climb the path from the Gates of the Moon to the Eyrie. He is named for his white coat.

Wolves

One Eye - One of three wolves that Varamyr could warg into. He has grey brown fur, a white muzzle and is blind in one eye.
Sly - One of three wolves that Varamyr could warg into. She is the only female.
Stalker - One of three wolves that Varamyr could warg into.

Cats

Balerion - Cat owned by Rhaenys Targaryen, named after the dragon Baleron. He is a black cat with a torn ear.
Boots - One of three black kittens give to King Tommen I by Margaery Tyrell.
Lady Whiskers - One of three black kittens give to King Tommen I by Margaery Tyrell.
Ser Pounce - One of three black kittens give to King Tommen I by Margaery Tyrell.

Birds

Proudwing - a goshawk owned by Stannis Baretheon as a child. His brother Robert nicknamed the bird Weakwing.
Thunderclap - a gyrfalcon owned by Robert Baretheon as a child.

Star Trek Original Series Pet Names

Some of the names on this list are obvious, others are a little more obscure. My favorites are Bones, Tribble and Scotty. Share your favorites in the comments!

Bones - Nickname of Dr. Leonard McCoy, Chief Medical Officer on the U.S.S. Enterprise
Chekov - Pavel Chekov was the navigator and security officer on the U.S.S. Enterprise
Deela - Deela was the Queen of a race for whom time was accelerated, but had the side effect of making men infertile.
Elaan - Elaan was a member of Elasian royalty who was escorted to her arranged marriage to a Troyian by the U.S.S. Enterprise.
George and Gracie - George and Gracie were two humpback whales brought from the 1980s to the future to communicate with a space probe attempting to make contact with them.
Harcourt - Harcourt 'Harry' Mudd was a con man that the U.S.S. Enterprise encountered on more than one occasion.
Hikaru - Hikaru Sulu was the helmsman on the U.S.S. Enterprise
Khan - Khan Noonien Singh was a megalomaniac superhuman from the late 20th century awoken from stasis by the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise
Kirk - James Tiberius Kirk was Captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise
Miri - Miri was a 300 year old girl from an Earth-like planet where a virus slowed aging, but caused death when they reached puberty

Tribble - Tribbles are round balls of fur that do nothing but eat and breed, which they do at an astounding rate.
Uhura - Nyota Uhura was the Communications Officer on the U.S.S. Enterprise
Vina - Vina was a human who survived a crash on Talos IV, but was repaired incorrectly, so she looked deformed. The Talosians used their telepathy to make her appear beautiful.
Zefram - Zefram Cochrane was the inventor of the warp drive engine.

The Hunger Games trilogy had fantastic character names. I love how most of the Capitol names took their inspiration from Ancient Rome, while the names from the districts were more fanciful. My favorite at the moment is 'Trinket', but Rue, Hazelle, Beetee, and Posy are up there too. Share your favorites in the comments!

The sitcom Seinfeld ran for 9 seasons, from 1989 to 1998, and is now considered a classic. Most names were a little too normal to be creative pet names, but I've managed to find a few that would work for fans of the show. My favorites are Cosmo, Jerry and Puddy. Branson - The chauffeur who married Sybil Crawley and became a member of the family
Carson - Butler of Downton.
Cassandra - Cassandra Jones was the pen name Septimus Spratt used for his agony column in The Sketch.

Crawley - Family name of Lord Grantham. Great for a tarantula.

Hockey Pet Names

In honor of the Stanley Cup Finals, which are in progress as I write my first post. Here is a list of my favorite hockey pet names. I try to avoid names of active players, because the player you love today could be the player you hate tomorrow. If you want one of those names, check out your favorite team's roster for inspiration. My favorites are Biscuit, Rocket and Zamboni. Share your favorites in the comments!

Apple - Slang for an assist.
Biscuit - Slang for the puck.
Calder - From the AHL's trophy, the Calder Cup.
Dasher - A term for the boards surrounding the rink.
Deke - A method of misleading your opponent into a wrong position.
Duster - Term for a player who sits on the bench and collects dust. 
Gordie - For the great Gordie Howe.
Gretzky - Why not name your pet after the Great One?
Lemieux - Mario's last name.. sounds like something a French cat might say, for feline lovers.
Mario - A video game character, or one of the greatest players ever, Mario Lemieux.
Puck - A mischievous imp in Shakespeare, but the most important part of the game.
Ranger - Best for fans of NYC's hockey club.
Rocket - For player Maurice 'Rocket' Richard.
Stanley - After the cup, of course.
Waffle - Slang for a goalie's blocker.
Zamboni - For a pet who loves the ice.
